Dr Haider Najjar trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre and gained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. During his training he was awarded the Young Scientists award by the International Menopause Society in Berlin Germany for his research in Premature Menopause.
Prior to his work within Australia, Dr Najjar gained surgical experience working overseas.
Dr Najjar completed a formal Fellowship in Gynaecology Minimally Invasive Surgery. During this training, he was a key member responsible in organizing and teaching at multiple workshops for training in Laparoscopic surgery. For his participation and contribution in these workshops, he was awarded the Travelling Fellowship by the Australian Gynaecology Endoscopy Society, which further allowed him to train in Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery in the United States under the renowned Laparoscopic Surgery pioneer, Dr Charles Koh. Following his Fellowship, he gained a public appointment as a Consultant Obstetricain/Gynaecologist at Monash Medical Centre.
Dr Najjar’s proficiency and expertise at minimally invasive advanced laparoscopic surgery has allowed him to become a part of the Preceptorship program at Monash Medical Centre in which he trains other consultant Gynaecologists new laparoscopic skills.
Apart from teaching surgical skills, Dr Najjar is also a University Lecturer for Monash University in the Women’s and Children’s Health Program at Monash Medical Centre and he is also actively involved in clinical research.
Dr Najjar is very dedicated to ongoing education and to remaining at the cutting edge of technology and surgical skills. As such, he is a member and active participant of the Australian and International Gynaecology Endoscopy Societies.
